Showrooming is a threat for all physical retail stores. It’s when a person compares prices online to prices in-store and then buys it online if it’s cheaper. Retailers are now finding ways to combat this. They’re building beacons that send messages to customers’ smartphones. These beacons will consist of different offers to keep customers in-store. While this won’t stop everyone from buying online, it can sway some to make the purchase in-store instead of online.
