A number of food business are engaged in a fierce competition for American fast-food and snack dollars, and have begun offering items similar to those produced by fast food restaurants like McDonald’s and Wendy’s. Fast food executives have stated that their revenues are being encroached upon on two sides: on one side are convenience stores and on the other are cheap casual diners.
