United States credit cards have proven to be extremely insecure compared to their European counterparts, which use embedded computer chips instead of magnetic strips. The use of magnetic strips makes it relatively easy for hackers to steal important credit card information that can be used or sold via the black market. So why don’t credit card companies do something about? It all comes down to money.
